One of those creatively driven, unique shops I hope we all support and love in the Oak Park area is Scratch ‘n Sniff at 120 N. Marion Street. No, I don’t even have a dog. And I’ve not ever purchased a pet parenting friend, dog supplies there (though it is a good idea).
But what I have purchased: A fun bag for me, that I get compliments on regularly (I love it so much I’m to the point of wearing it out). A fun peace sign humingbird purse that my aunt loves to the point of almost wearing it out. I bought beer bottle rings for my husband. I purchased funky little things for the kids.
And I have this whole list of things that I WANT to purchase. I’m pretty crazy for their big fashion forward rings in the front display cases. And we happen to be fans of Halloween, so the Dia de los Muertos merch. is extremely attractive.
I can’t believe they have been in Oak Park for over 7 years. They feel like such an Oak Park institution I had, in my mind, doubled the amount of time they have called Oak Park home.
Scratch ‘n Sniff has a sense of snarky humor that makes me kinda want to hang out, buy another bag and a ring, and spread the word.
I DO constantly get compliments on my bag. And when I say, “I got it at Scratch ‘n Sniff” – people don’t believe me. It’s true it’s a fantastic store. So here are the photos. Go in – check it out. Get a bag. Be fashion forward and maybe buy your dog OR CAT a treat.
