Ken Trainor knew the complaints were coming when he attacked gun owners. The question is, who would not have known it?

Putting aside his combative characterization of the commenters — “extremists [whose] obsession with guns is matched only by their obsession with . . . bad guys . . . waiting to mug them, [inhabiting] an alternate universe where every day is combat,” etc. — are we to believe theirs are the most cogent arguments for gun ownership?

Trainor loves a scrum and got one. But what about more systematic objections to gun control as we have it?
