Oak Park Farmers’ Market Corn Roast

Every Saturday morning, the Pilgrim Church parking lot, 460 Lake, is filled with local farmers, eager shoppers, and the smell of coffee and fresh doughnuts. This Saturday, Aug. 20, the farmers’ market is having a special event as well; a corn roast. There’s always free parking on Scoville Avenue in the two-story parking garage so come on out, get some corn and enjoy the always fresh and local produce. 4th Annual Oak Park Micro Brew Review

Also on Saturday at 3 p.m., the Oak Park Micro Brew Review kicks off on the 100 block of Marion between Lake Street and North Boulevard. This zero waste craft beer festival, sponsored by Seven Generations Ahead in collaboration with Downtown Oak Park, highlights more than 90 craft beers from over 30 different midwestern micro breweries paired with local, organic food samplings. The Rookery, men’s choir concert at First United Church

Oak Park musicians Matt Dean (tenor soloist) and Bill Chin (conductor at First United, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Pro Musica) debut their professional men’s singing ensemble with music ranging from the Renaissance to The Police, covering barbershop, Britten, and Beatles in between. First United Church, 848 Lake, hosts this short, energetic, and fun concert of beautiful music for all times and voices. 37th Annual Oak Park Ave-Lake Arts and Crafts Show

Once again, Scoville Park is buzzing with artists’ exhibits and craft tents during the 37th Annual Oak Park Ave-Lake Arts and Crafts Show. This juried event, presented by the American Society of Artists, runs Friday, Aug. 19, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Artists and craftsartists will display their paintings, artwear, graphics, woodworking, glass works, photography, jewelry and more.
