Residents of Holley Court Terrace, a Brookdale Senior Living retirement community in Oak Park, recently celebrated the publication of their personal memoirs at a book release party with family and friends.
The residents of Holley Court Terrace created memoirs featuring their life stories through Connected Living technology. They selected stories and photographs from the past to highlight their life achievements and milestones, such as long marriages and family legacies, to be featured in their books.
With the help of Connected Living ambassadors, residents of Holley Court Terrace have been working to create their own personal memoirs to share their life stories with others. As they create their memoirs, residents revisit favorite memories and milestones from their past.
Resident authors’ family and friends gathered for Connected Living’s largest book release party to date. Nearly all of the resident authors had family members attend, bringing the guest list to 56 people. The room was packed as Connected Living ambassador Donna Giuseffi introduced each author through a game of “Name That Author.”
At the party, Giuseffi presented each resident author with a personalized certificate acknowledging them for their work on their memoirs. After seeing the work of fellow residents, six additional Holley Court Terrace residents registered to create their own personal memoirs through Connected Living during the party.
After the party, 12 extra copies of memoirs were ordered by resident authors and their families, demonstrating the value and meaningfulness of the keepsake books.
