Today’s Fabulous Find takes us to our favorite European-inspired boutique, The Careful Peach Boutique in Oak Park (1024 North Boulevard).

If you haven’t had the chance to watch Woody Allen’s latest romantic comedy, Midnight in Paris, you’re missing out on a pleasurable viewing experience: exquisite Parisian scenery, opulent settings, fanciful frocks, and a lighthearted poke at native Oak Parker, Ernest Hemingway (among other celebrated artists).

I left with a great desire to either board a plane for an impromptu trip to Paris or, at the very least, bring a little bit of French style into my life.

And I know just the place to go to satiate any French cravings!

Careful Peach Boutique has a lovely new line of French-inspired housewares at their shop, and it is chock full of “Peachy charm!” (That’s Careful Peach speak for delightfully appealing!)

The Numerology Collection features visually arresting cocktail napkins, napkin rings, wall hooks, small creamer/pitchers, pillboxes, aprons, and placemats in monochromatic hues of ebony and ivory.

You’ll fall in love with its simple but bold design – tres chic in black and white with sophisticated lettering (think French bistro!).

The Absinthe bistro saucers have a hint of color and an interesting backstory. They were used during the Belle Epoque period in Paris not only to serve drinks on, but also to help waiters keep tabs open for their customers.

After each drink, waiters would stack the little saucers on the table and at the end of the night the tinted edges would let them easily tabulate how much the customer owed!

The distinctive design and vintage feel makes the Numerology Collection a charming addition to any household.

For prices and store hours call or visit www.carefulpeach.com. See photo gallery for a peek at the collection.

Stop back next Friday for another Fabulous Find or for Style Inspiration from friends and neighbors. Until then, I’ll see you around town and in the shops!
