Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois has teamed up with Panera Bread for “Crosstown Wish”, a program that will help grant the wishes of two local, baseball-loving Make-A-Wish children, “Northsider” Michael Jenig, a local Streamwood native, and “Southsider” Daniel Cavazos, a local Bolingbrook native. Panera Bread locations across Chicagoland will be offering a Northside/Cubs (Bacon Turkey Bravo) and a Southside/Sox (Sierra Turkey) sandwich, the proceeds of which will go towards fulfilling the two boys respective dreams. No matter which sandwich “wins”, both boys’ wishes will become a reality.
Michael is a sweet and positive thirteen year old boy who was diagnosed with a heart condition that required him to have a heart transplant at only three months old. Daniel is an adorable 5 year old who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007. They both wished for a trip to Disney World with their families. Crosstown Wish is part of The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois and Chicagoland Panera Bread’s “Operation Dough-Nation” partnership. The program is happening now and ends on June 20 (the actual Crosstown classic is June 20 -22.)
