A memorial gathering for Elaine Logan-Allen (aka Elaine Munn), 1930-2010, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 28, at Third Unitarian Church, 301 N. Mayfield Ave., Chicago. Family and friends are invited to share memories and enjoy musical performances.
Elaine will be remembered locally as the live-in owner and manager of an apartment building on the south side of Oak Park for 35 years. She considered this to be an extension of her commitment to a stable, thriving, and racially integrated community. Many of the people who lived in her building benefited from lively interactions with Elaine and came to view her as a dear friend.
She also had a longtime association with the Third Unitarian Church of Chicago, joining in 1970.
