Charlotte Miller (nee Westby), 92, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Oak Park, died on June 20, 2010. Born on May 14, 1918 in Boone County, Neb., she grew up on a farm. In 1937, she moved to Oak Park and married Lindsay Miller Jr.

Ms. Miller worked in the music department at Oak Park and River Forest High School for many years and was involved in the music program at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church in Oak Park. She was past president of the MacDowell Artists Association, volunteered at West Suburban Hospital, and served on the boards of the Chicago Opera Society and the Presbyterian-St. Luke Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.

In 2001, she moved to Scottsdale and volunteered at Shea Medical Center. She was a member of Pinnacle Presbyterian Church. Those who knew her say they will miss her outgoing and caring personality.

Charlotte Miller is survived by her children, Marcia, Lindsay and Tom; her sisters, Arline, Beulah, Maxine and Naomi; and her grandchildren, Anya, Emily and Alicia. She was preceded in death by Lindsay, her husband of 47 years.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., July 17 at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 744 Fair Oaks Ave, Oak Park 60302.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Charlotte Miller Memorial Fund, c/o Fair Oaks Presbyterian, in support of the Youth Bell Choir, which she helped establish.
