Former OPRF High School wrestler Ellis Coleman, currently training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado, placed third at the World Team Trials in Greco-Roman wrestling at 66 kg.

Coleman, 18, who graduated from OPRF in 2009, was a three-time state medalist with an overall record of 166-9.

Weinheimer headed to Macalester

OPRF graduate John Weinheimer will join the Macalester College’s men’s basketball team.

Weinheimer, a 6-6 guard/forward, averaged eight points, four rebounds and three assists per game for the Huskies. He shot 40 percent from the floor and 65 percent from the free-throw line as a senior after being injured most of his junior year.

The Huskies finished the season 22-6. Weinheimer was an Academic All-West Suburban Conference selection, a four-year Dean’s List member and graduated cum laude.

OPYB/S has new Web site

The Oak Park Youth Baseball/Softball unveiled last month a new Web site that’s designed to improve the look, feel and navigation of the old one.

The site, located at www.opybs.org, is updated regularly and includes key information about the organization, each league and upcoming events. In addition, the site has a link to quick scores and access to all game schedules and standings.

Swim lessons

The second session of Fenwick’s swim lessons for children 5 and up begins June 28. Fenwick has openings for the sessions that begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

The lessons run for 45 minutes Monday through Thursday for two weeks. The third session will begin on July 12 and there are openings in all classes.
