I am writing to inform the residents of Oak Park that there is a mystery angel in our midst. The Saturday before last, about 1:30 p.m., while riding my bicycle on the streets of Oak Park, I lost my wallet. Within 30 minutes of the loss, it was returned intact with all my credit cards, my identity cards and cash. We were out searching for the lost item when some kind lady and her daughter returned it to our neighbor. She did not leave her name. I am awed by this woman’s kindness, the model she is for her daughter, our future generation.
My faith in human kindness has been renewed, and it is yet another reminder of why I love Oak Park. I hope this mystery angel will be blessed with the knowledge of how appreciative I am for her honesty and generosity of spirit.
