Donna Stevens, assistant superintendent for Pupil Support Services for Oak Park and River Forest High School, resigned her position Friday.
Stevens stepped down following a late night closed-session meeting of the District 200 Board of Education Thursday. Stevens, who has served as an administrator for more than six years, resigned amid a series of charges, including “failure to provide adequate support and supervision to subordinates,” according to her attorney Lee Pulliam, who spoke with Wednesday Journal prior to the meeting.
Stevens’ administrative position was going to be reclassified, and she was not going to be retained in her current position for the 2006-07 school year. No details have been released from the school concerning the circumstances of Stevens’ resignation.
OPRF spokesperson Kay Foran said other administrators would oversee Stevens’ administrative responsibilities, which include overseeing student discipline and special education, for the remainder of this school year.
