Thanks for a very clear article (“OP gets $4.8M for Ike cap from feds,” Aug. 3).
Think of all the nice things Oak Park could do for itself with that kind of money. They could gold plate the schools, run champagne out of the water fountains, serve caviar to the homeless, give free day care to all the residents, pay Harvard tuition for any kid accepted, give Hawaiian vacations in the middle of winter…
This is a perfect example of localities treating our federal tax money as “free.”
I am very disappointed in Obama and Davis.
