Concordia University Chicago has announced the hiring of Randy Awrey as its new head football coach.

Awrey has over 30 years of football coaching experience, including 18 as a head coach. He currently holds a career coaching record of 124-68-1.

Awrey replaces Lonnie Pries, who took the athletic director and head football coach positions at Concordia Ann Arbor after guiding the Cougars to its best finish in the history of the program last fall.

Since your article had no background on the guy, I took it upon myself to do some checking. The following is circa 2007: GLIAC football power Saginaw Valley State fired coach Randy Awrey and will voluntarily reduce its scholarship count for two years and forfeit conference wins after determining it had committed NCAA rules violations in 2005 and this past season. Looks like Concordia could be in for some excitement, especially if he brings his sons. They participated in rules violations.
