Given the superb job Phil Cotter has done heading River Forest’s Public Works Department, we suppose it was inevitable that he would soon move on to bigger and better things. In his three years as director, Phil led an already excellent public works crew to an even higher level of public service.
David Linde, 48, bankruptcy attorney
David E. Linde, 48, a 13-year-resident of Oak Park, died on Feb. 19, 2014 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood of complications from Cystic Fibrosis. Born on April 13, 1965 in Chicago, he was raised in Evergreen Park and graduated from Evergreen Park High School, Carroll College, and John Marshall Law School. He was a practicing bankruptcy attorney.

Midtown Athletic Club Feature of the Week: Friars earn second at sectional; state swim meet next
The Riverside-Brookfield High School boys swim team won its first-ever sectional title Saturday at with 294 points, followed by sectional host Fenwick (253 points) and Oak Park and River Forest (231 points). As for the Friars, their impressive streak of 10 straight sectional titles came to an abrupt end courtesy of the upstart Bulldogs.
Four state champs for OPRF wrestling
Led by state champions Isaiah White, Larry Early, Kamal Bey and Davonte Mahomes, the Oak Park and River Forest wrestling team dominated the IHSA Individual State Tournament.
OPRF sends eight wrestlers to state semis
Eight OPRF wrestlers have advanced to Saturday’s IHSA Individual State Tournament semifinals in their respective weight classes. The tournament is at the State Farm Center on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign, Il.
One game at a time for Trinity; Fenwick out of playoffs
In the Class 4A girls basketball playoffs, Trinity is the only team in town still standing. Fenwick and OPRF are both out, while the Blazers won the Argo Regional title on Thursday.
