Rush Oak Park Hospital

Can you spend hours that feel any longer than the ones in an ER waiting to be admitted to the hospital? You or your loved one is sick or injured, there are a million distractions, doctors and nurses disappear unexplained for long stretches, and those rubber mattresses are going to kill you if a disease doesn’t.

Well, according to a new analysis by Crain’s of the median time between arrival at an ER and transfer to a patient room, Oak Park’s two hospitals are among the best in the region at keeping that time short.

Rush Oak Park Hospital, in fact, was tops in the Crain’s survey with a median time of 3.5 hours. West Sub was third in the survey with a wait time of 3.8 hours.

The longest wait? Cook County’s Stroger Hospital at 10.6 hours.
