Oak Park police arrested a Will County man on criminal sexual abuse charges last week.
Police took the 30-year-old Romeoville man into custody at the Cook County Courthouse in Maywood shortly before noon on Wed. Dec. 10. He was processed and held for a detention hearing, according to police.
Police arrested the man in connection with an incident that took place on Nov. 4 in the 500 block of South Maple Avenue in Oak Park, which includes the campus of Rush Oak Park hospital, according to police.
Motor Vehicle Theft
Oak Park police investigated several reported vehicle thefts over the last week, according to police reports. Several of the stolen vehicles were involved in accidents shortly after they were reported stolen.
A Chicago man delivering packages for Amazon had his 2014 Ford Fiesta stolen from the 800 block of North Ridgeland Avenue by two men who fled east in the vehicle on Thomas Street. The car had 46 undelivered packages inside when it was stolen, according to police.
The vehicle was recovered later that day at 7:30 p.m. at the scene of an accident in the 700 block of North Lombard Avenue. An Oak Park resident’s 2007 Hummer H3 was also stolen from the 800 block of North Lombard Avenue sometime shortly after 9:10 p.m. of Sunday, Dec. 14, according to police.
The Hummer is valued at $18,000, according to police.
A Chicago resident’s 2008 Buick Lucerne was stolen after it was left parked in the 300 block of Fillmore Street shortly before midnight Friday, Dec. 12. The vehicle was later recovered by Illinois State Police after it had been wrecked near I-290’s Ohio Street exit, according to police.
An Oak Park resident’s 2019 Kia Sorento was stolen from the 1000 block of Ontario Street overnight the evening of Friday, Dec. 12, according to police. The vehicle is valued at $12,000, according to police.
These items were obtained from Oak Park’s Police Department reports dated Dec. 10 – Dec. 15 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
