The Long Dream, which opened Nov. 7 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, features work by Chicago artists including a work by Jesse Howard, The Bewitching Hour. Howard is an Oak Park Art League member and teacher and has a work on display at the Oak Park Public Library’s main branch. He lives in Maywood.
“Artists help us see our world more clearly. …” the MCA website says of the exhibition. “Against the backdrop of a global pandemic and a renewed reckoning over racial justice and inequality, The Long Dream invites visitors to see the city of Chicago, the world, and themselves, through the eyes of more than 70 local artists whose work offers us ways to imagine a more equitable and interconnected world.”
The exhibit is named after Richard Wright’s 1958 novel. It is open through Jan. 17, 2021. Timed tickets must be reserved in advance
