Ten months out from village elections in River Forest and already there are two declared candidates for village president.
We report today that Cathy Adduci has announced her plan to run for a third term as president, citing her accomplishments and the unsettled circumstances of life in 2020 as reasons for steady continued leadership.
Almost simultaneously, Patty Henek, elected a village trustee two years ago, announced her run for village president. She argues for more open decision-making processes, more opportunities for citizens to be heard and more robust debate at the board table.
This will be an interesting and, we expect, an intense campaign, even within the confines of running for office in a pandemic.
