Celebrating the OP-RF Historical Society’s 50th anniversary and Carleton Hotel’s 90th anniversary, a “Golden Gala” will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Carleton Hotel, which was built in 1928. Owner Mike Fox and the Carleton Hotel will be underwriting the entire event.

Proceeds will fund the 1-year-old Oak Park River Forest Museum. Harriet Hausman of River Forest and Doug Deuchler of Oak Park (and longtime theater critic for Wednesday Journal) will be honored with the inaugural “Heart of the Village” awards at 7:30 p.m. $100; $90, members.
