Joshua D. Ungaretti-Levy, 14, died on Feb. 8, 2016 at his Oak Park home surrounded by his loving family.
From the day of his birth, Nov. 13, 2001, he was a gentle boy who persevered in his full life and was cherished and precious to all who knew him. Josh touched and changed the lives of nearly everyone he encountered by teaching us all many lessons in courage, perseverance, determination, tolerance, and compassion.
He was in the eighth grade at The Children’s School in Berwyn, and, besides his family and friends, Josh’s other passions were music and playing soccer in the AYSO (VIP) soccer league in Oak Park.
In addition to his own unique strength, he was sustained by the unconditional love of his mothers, Christine and Joy; his sisters, Sarah and Ella; and his large and extended family who will always adore him.
Joshua is also survived by his grandparents, George and Donna Parker and Richard (Noren) Ungaretti and Audrey Ungaretti.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 13 at St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Church in Oak Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Memorial donations in Joshua’s honor are appreciated to The Children’s School in Berwyn at www.thechildrensschool.info or to Easter Seals of DuPage and Fox Valley at www.eastersealsdfvr.org.
