“It’s a privilege to live in this wonderful community and we need to give back, to share. Giving is integral to my religion and my politics,” says Len Grossman, a retired teacher, labor lawyer, and lifelong student. Len is past president of West Suburban Synagogue (where he has been a member since 1953) and also past president of the Community of Congregations, an OPRF Food Pantry volunteer, and current board member of Oak Park Festival Theatre.
“Festival Theatre always has a fresh approach to the theatrical masterpieces they present so brilliantly. These fresh takes make one re-imagine, rethink things we thought we knew but discover anew. Being connected with the running of the theatre allows me the illusion that I am part of the creation of the art.” Grossman has, in fact, performed in Midwinter’s Tales, the annual Festival Theatre co-benefit with Housing Forward, which this year will be held December 5 at Grace Episcopal.
