I am 9 years old and I have Type 1 diabetes and am currently in the fourth grade at Beye School. About two or three years ago I was told that horses are not legal in Oak Park. I was furious for I am an intermediate rider. I have been wanting to own my own horse for quite some time now. I have been piling up information on horses. Now I have set out to change this law.
So yes, of course, horses are a lot of work. But … if you would just allow them, people will learn. We could ride them in the bike lane. I mean my favorite part about riding is galloping, the rush of wind in my hair. Horses have changed my life and I believe that they can change other people’s too.
Horses are loyal to their owner. Horses are just like a friend. Everyone should know the saying “Dog’s are a man’s friend.” Well … “Horses are a girl’s best friend.”
