“Life Itself,” a documentary about notable film critic Roger Ebert directed by Oak Park resident Steve James, has not received an Oscar nomination.
“I’m in shock,” said “Citizenfour” director Laura Poitras to Variety. “When his name wasn’t up there, I thought, ‘how is that possible?’ He’s a legend in our field with an incredible body of work.”
Poitras called the snub “a heartbreak.”
