Myra Price & Michelle Vanderlean

Spring if here for certain – and we did see the sun briefly at the Amity Children’s Charity annual Luncheon & Fashion show this week!

This event kicks off the Spring/Summer season – who doesn’t love the opportunity to put on a lovely frock and enjoy the company of 100 generous, like-minded women?  Volunteer board members worked tirelessly with our local retailers & vendors to ensure guests could shop, silent auction and be treated to a fabulous preview of multi-season fashion.  Partcipants included Sugarcup Trading, York Furrier, Muse, JAYNE, Madison Street Shoes, Bohochic, Takara, River Forest Chicolates, Stella & Dot, Lia Sophia & B handbags.

The Charity honored Michelle Vanderlaan this year, presenting her with the ‘Outstanding Citizen Award’, the 4th annual distinction.  Michelle spoke of her parents passion for education & community involvement; and how she came to open Sugarcup Trading, a retail trading store designed and inspired by kids. Specializing in recycled, eco-friendly and unique children’s toys, clothing and gear.

Upon completion of the award ceremony, models: Lisa Lewis, Mary Taglia, Iris Saavedra Zaldivar, Cindy Milojevic, Annie Doppes, Kirsten Phillips, Myra Price, Linda Greenwell, Sue Crothers, Sharon Henk, and our own Ashley Lisenby & Maggie Acker – took to the runway in fashions from local boutiques.
