It may have been a few years since some of us have been to the Prairie Title offices on North Avenue. We probably visited once when we purchased our home, showing up to sign papers. For many of us, the Prairie Title office is one that we visit as we make some critical moving “in” decisions. Frankly, if ever we are in the market to purchase new local art it’s when we sign on the dotted line.
It makes such perfect sense for Prairie Title to offer up it’s walls and inner offices so that local artists, chosen by a local curator, can display their art work. Artists are welcomed with an opening artist’s reception. Prairie Title stays open late so that friends, family and our comminity can come and view the works.
Frankly, I love that a local business, that doesn’t touch our lives that often (once we move in) continues to support our community in some critical ways. The Oak Park Art League is a fantastic organization that supports our fantastic local community of artists. Even if folks in the Prairie Title offices don’t purchase, The Oak Park Art League and it’s artists get to impress our new community members right from the start.
Prairie Title has a sign that stays up all the time in their lobby, reminding new home owners that indeed, the art works on display are for sale.
This past Thursday November 21, Prairie Title had a reception to show off the works of four local artists from the Oak Park Art League. Work by artists Ginny Pitre-Hay, Roberta Raymond, AJ Abboreno, and Mark Hansen are now on display until January 7, 2014.
