OPRF boys tennis
The No. 1 doubles team of Jeremy Dixon and Graham Lehman reeled off five consecutive victories highlighted by a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 quarterfinal win over Stevenson’s Pawel Jaworski and Josh Lieberman at Saturday’s state finals. Dixon-Lehman finished fourth in state after losing 6-4, 6-4 to Alex Hagermoser and Peter Heneghan of Hinsdale Central in the semifinals and 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-3 to Colin Harvey and Andrew Komarov (Stevenson) in the third-place match.
OPRF sophomore Miles Blim went 1-2 while the Huskies’ other top doubles team of DJ Arends and Jonah Philion dropped a pair of matches.
The Huskies (13 points) finished in a four-way tie with Warren, Libertyville and Metamora for 14th place overall.
OPRF boys volleyball
OPRF rolled to a 25-14, 25-18 win over Morton in the semifinals of the St. Rita Sectional. Sam Rolfes (nine kills), Ryan Ebersole (eight kills, two blocks), Levi Algozino (27 assists) and Ben Miller (17 digs) led the Huskies, who face St. Rita in the sectional championship match this week.
