A 51-year-old River Forest man turned himself into River Forest Police on Feb. 14 after an altercation at the home of his ex-wife during which he allegedly struck her boyfriend on the head at least four times with a golf club.
Police arrested Gil J. Lemar of the 1500 block of Forest Ave. Witnesses and the victim told police the two men became involved in an altercation around 6 p.m. when Lemar came to his ex-wife’s house to pick up children as part of a custody visitation agreement. The victim was transported to the hospital by River Forest Fire Department paramedics with injuries to the head.
After consultation with the Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney, River Forest police charged Lemar with one count of felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
