A Park District of Oak Park supervisor noticed Monday that a memorial plaque dedicated to local men who died during World War I was missing from the Stevenson Center.

Park District spokeswoman Diane Stanke said park district staff are looking for anyone with information on the disappearance of the bronze plaque. It had been on a boulder in front of the center in the first block of Lake Street. A statement from the park district said t’s one of five in the village’s parks and they serve as memorials to “Gold Star Men of the World War.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the park district at 708-725-2022.
