The village of River Forest will be conducting a special yard-waste pickup Friday, March 23, due to warm temperatures accelerating spring cleaning.
Some residents have already begun filling two-ply paper bags and setting them out at the curb, which prompted the scheduling of the special pickup, according to a statement Thursday from the village.
Each yard waste bag needs a universal solid waste/yard waste sticker. Stickers are available for sale at Village Hall, 400 Park Ave., and the Jewel and Dominick’s stores in River Forest for $2.35 each until May 1. After that, the cost increases to $2.40.
The next pickup for yard waste will be on April 3.
