We are in appreciation and eager to share this article, “Living with Nathanial” [LifeLines, Nov. 16]. I’m sharing the article with many, including NAMI of DuPage and Dr. Xavier Amador, who wrote the book, I’m not sick, I don’t need help. I have been in contact with him.

His goal is to improve the lives of those with serious mental illness such as schizophrenia and bi-polar. His career includes working with Dr. Peter Weiden, director of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Center for Cognitive Medicine.

For families struggling with a loved one with this disease, it is not an easy road. I hope more knowledge can make it better.
