The District 200 Board of Education hopes to begin talks with OPRF faculty concerning the upcoming teachers contract negotiations sometime next month.

Board President Dietra Millard said both sides will meet to discuss the negotiations process, including who from the board and faculty side will sit in during actual contract talks. The current faculty contract, which was approved in 2007, is up in June 2012. Millard said there have been no talks with the faculty so far, but she hopes to begin the process in October. The two sides first have to discuss what the process will be before going into actual negations.

“We have not made any decision or had any conversations so far about what the process will be,” Millard said.

The last contract negotiations involved just one board member and a team from the faculty side.
