Volunteers and friends of missing Oak Park parent Jassen Strokosch are organizing a search of Thatcher Woods in River Forest at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Strokosch, 39, has been missing since early Wednesday. The Irving School parent community has spent much of Thursday printing fliers and passing them out throughout Oak Park. Volunteers were also stationed at train stops in the area to hand out fliers.
Kathy Paoli and her two daughters, Maggie and Julie, were at the Oak Park Green Line station beginning at around 4 o’clock. Her husband and son were canvassing the immediate area placing fliers with local businesses.
The Paoli’s are close friends with the Strokosch’s; Maggie and Julie have babysat the Strokosch’s two kids.
“We’re trying to help and get the word out. We hope that he comes back safe,” said Kathy Paoli.
The Irving parent community began mobilizing volunteers Thursday afternoon to help find Strokosch. Interested volunteers are encouraged to contact Nancy Guarino: 708-979-8309, firstname.lastname@example.org.
According to the flier, Strokosch was last seen near Cermak and Desplaines in River Forest, is 6 foot 1 and drove a 2005 silver Pontiac Vibe, which was found at Roosevelt and East in Berwyn. He was last seen wearing a plaid, buttoned-up shirt, a t-shirt underneath, and either blue jeans or khakis.
