The Park District of Oak Park’s leadership deserves the thanks of all responsible owners and friends of Oak Park’s dogs. Following through on plans to provide the village with two permanent dog parks — first at Ridgeland Common and now at Maple Park — is truly commendable. If you’re a dog owner who hasn’t yet taken advantage of these resources, don’t delay. Visit Ridgeland Common (or the park district’s website) to learn about purchasing an annual pass, which will give you and your dog access to both dog parks. Then head over to one of the parks and let your dog play off leash in a safe, secure environment. Your dog will thank you.
