The OPRF wrestling team finished tied for 13th out of the 24 teams competing at the Granite City Holiday Tournament last week, but the real story was Devonte Mahomes. The freshman defeated No. 1-ranked Justin Dickey 4-2 to win at 145 pounds.

Prior to Granite City, OPRF had two wrestlers place at the always difficult Dvorak Tournament. Darius Henry (112-pound weight division) and defending state champ Sam Brooks (171) placed for the Huskies. Brooks finished in sixth place despite being forced out of the tournament after the first day with an injury.

As a team, OPRF finished in 15th place at Dvorak with 94.5 points. Marmion won the tournament with 204.5 points.
