Homecoming at Oak Park and River Forest High School kicked off this week. This year’s festivities, including Saturday’s homecoming dance, will have a jungle theme.
According to OPRF’s Student Council, which hosts each year’s festivities, there will be an 8-foot python, a bird and other surprises to greet students at Saturday’s Homecoming Dance in the Field House. Other activities include:
Friday, Oct. 8
- Huskie Block Party, 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the school mall on East Avenue
- Varsity Boys’ soccer vs. Morton, 4:30 p.m., in the stadium
- Powder Puff Football Game, 6:30 p.m. in the stadium (awards, varsity teams, and Homecoming Court intro from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m.)
Saturday, Oct. 9
- Homecoming Varsity Football Huskies vs. Morton, 1:30 p.m., in the stadium
- Junior Varsity A/B Field Hockey vs. Deerfield, 11 a.m., South Field
- Sophomore Football game, 11 a.m., in the stadium
- Varsity Field Hockey vs. Deerfield, 10 a.m., South Field
- Freshman A-Team Boys game 9 a.m., on the practice field
- Homecoming “Jungle” Dance, 7 to 10 p.m. in the Field House
