Lunch in the ballroom of the Oak Park Arms last Tuesday came with a chaser of local fashion news. The latest in clothes and accessories for women, men, kids and dogs was on parade as the Oak Park and River Forest Chamber of Commerce hosted its first runway show.
Strutting and pivoting to show what’s available right in neighborhood shops were more than 40 people whom the organizers called “celebrity models.” Among those taking to the runway were the presidents of both villages, members of the business and arts communities, leaders and volunteers for local nonprofits, and students from Concordia and Dominican universities.
The show was called Fresh Fashions, Familiar Faces.
