The Oak Park Development Corp. named Nicolette Vander Meer as its new vice president last week, almost a year after the position was vacated.

OPDC – a private, nonprofit organization that acts as a catalyst to development activity in the village, offering loans and grants – has been searching for a new vice president for the past five months. The position first opened in Mach 2009, when past president John Eckenroad retired, and Sara Faust was promoted from vice president into the head post.

Vander Meer is coming to OPDC from a the Lighten-Gale group, a real estate finance consulting firm in Chicago where she worked as a project manager, according to a press release. The new vice president will work to analyze development projects and market new businesses, according to the release.

“Nicolette’s professional experience, educational background and her enthusiasm will be great additions to the team at OPDC,” Faust said in the press release.
