On behalf of the West Cook YMCA in Oak Park, we want to publicly thank the many merchants in the Oak Park-River Forest-Forest Park area for their generous contributions to our Silent Auction. Our 104th Annual Meeting and Celebration was held on April 26. Through this event we were able to raise $16,000 for our Invest in Youth program. These scholarship funds help ensure that the YMCA never turns anyone away for lack of financial resources. Every year we reach out to thousands of individuals in our community, especially children and youth, who would not otherwise be in a position to afford the positive value-enhanced experiences the YMCA provides.
The West Cook YMCA is excited about its future and our service to the community. We are hopeful that local businesses will continue to have an interest in the YMCA as a community organization. We appreciate the fact that they are asked again and again to support these kinds of fundraising efforts. At our event, and now once again, we would ask the community to continue to patronize those businesses that support the vast array of charitable and not-for-profit organizations in our area, including the YMCA.
