On Mondays at the Shopping and Fashion Blog we bring you all things green. Today's eco-friendly find is from American Artworks Gallery in Forest Park (7314 W. Madison Street).

These oversized pillows in a vibrant color palette are stunning. Full of exotic colors, shapes, and details, the cotton textile of these plush pillows is hand woven and naturally dyed in India.

A local artist attentively selects the animated fabrics while traveling abroad, then returns home to Illinois where each pillow is meticulously handcrafted.

If you've never been to American Artworks Gallery, you're missing out on some fine, handmade goods - all made in the USA.

You can always expect the unexpected here. Local artists use recycled materials and earth-friendly textiles to create original artwork, apparel, jewelry, and houseware.

In peppy hues of curry, saffron, and paprika, these authentic pillows are perfect for welcoming the bright, summer days.

Light up your living room, bedroom, or porch with these spirited and handmade pillows - the pefect accents to add a little spice to your home!

Stop back next week for another green find or to explore another eco-friendly local shop. Until then, I'll see you around town and in the shops!
