A limited edition Harcourt Chess Set by Nendo, found at Oak Park fine decor shop Alioto's, 1118 Chicago Avenue, is one of CS Modern Luxury Magazine's hot design items of the season.

The price? About a semester's worth of college tuition--$32,000.

More than 200 hours of work was put into creating the hand-cut blue and clear crystal chessman that accompany this chess set. The set marks the 250th anniversary celebration of French crystal house Baccarat.

Would you pay more than $30,000 for a chess set? Tell us why or why not in the comment section below.
