While you're making your post Turkey Day (or Tofurky Day, for my veggie loving pals) shopping plans, make time for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29.

Read why you should shop small from Bee Home and Garden owner Colleen Maia.

When you shop small and local you are not only supporting your community and local businesses, but you are also probably more likely to find unique items that you would not find at big box stores.

Cheers and happy #shopsmall Saturday. Tweet your finds from this Saturday's shopping excursion to @OakParkShopping.

P.S. River Forest Chocolates is handing out very cute, very useful Small Business Saturday canvas bags (pictured) to the first few dozen patrons on Nov. 29.

Love the Bee. Can't wait to see the new spaces on East Chicago Avenue.
