Oak Park Public Library cardholders can now check out a NOOK loaded with multiple e-books. Fifty new NOOK eReaders will be available to Oak Park Public Library cardholders with popular e-books selected by Oak Park Public Library.

NOOKs will offer nonfiction bestsellers, mysteries, action and intrigue, romance, and titles for kids and teens. Both NOOK Simple Touch and NOOK Color are available. Preloaded content on the NOOK Color includes graphic novels, cookbooks, and picture books for kids and toddlers.

The eReaders can be placed on hold through the library's Swan catalog online or by calling 708-383-8200. NOOKs will be available at library service desks for pickup, and must be returned to a library staff member at the same desk where it was checked out. To prevent damage, NOOKs should not be returned in book drops. More details available here.

NOOKs can be borrowed for up to three weeks and can be renewed if there is no waiting list. $1 will be charged for each day overdue and actual replacement costs will be charged for any parts lost or damaged. NOOKs borrowed from the library come with a case, power cord and adaptor, and instruction cards.
