'Intouchables' shouldn't be untouchable by Oak Park movie-goers

The Lake Theatre managed to land a French film, The Intouchables, which has been getting word-of-mouth raves from those who have seen it. The only trouble is, not enough people are seeing it. Attendance was poor during its first week, but local movie buffs have a second week to catch it. The film plays through Aug. 9. Yes, there are subtitles, but anyone who enjoys an entertainingly offbeat film is never put off by that.

Meanwhile, The Lake's First Tuesday Club will be showing We Have a Pope at noon and 7 p.m. on Aug. 7. Up next is Bernie on Sept. 4.

A number of theaters had this movie a couple months ago and it didn't have big attendance numbers then either.
