Surf free in Scoville Park

By Ken Trainor
Many people many not know it, but the rehab of Scoville Park comes with an upgraded technology feature: free outdoor WiFi.
The library and Park District of Oak Park have teamed to provide a wireless system supporting hundreds of simultaneous users and offering direct connections to the Internet from anywhere in the park. Guests can access WiFi in the park by connecting to the "scovillepark" wireless network.
So next time you're having lunch in the downtown park or watching the kids, you can catch up online.

David, to clarify, the addition of WiFi access in the park was not part of the recent renovation. The PDOP & Library had been working on this separately as part of their regular inter-governmental cooperation. You're correct in that it's a great addition to the park.

I didn't know free wifi was part of the renovation, but what a fantastic offering.
