It did please the court

Seemed as if half of Oak Park crammed into the Illinois Supreme Court chamber at 160 N. LaSalle St. last Friday morning to see the installation of Pam Meyerson as a judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, 11th Subcircuit.
This is an appointment to fill a vacancy, and Meyerson was chosen by a judicial screening committee, co-chaired by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis, who presided over Friday's proceedings and urged Meyerson to "work hard every day to earn the public's trust."

Cheryl Chamberlain, Dan Lessor, Prof. Randolph Stone, and state Sen. Don Harmon (D-39th) took turns testifying to Meyerson's ability to do just that.

It may have been Lessor who noted the irony that Judge Meyerson will be holding court in Traffic Court. Why ironic? Because Pam and her husband Charlie met when they were involved in a traffic accident many moons ago. Talk about no hard feelings.

We suspect she'll be telling that story more than a few times in court.

Nice article. One correction: The eloquent gentleman who spoke on behalf of Pam Meyerson is Dan Lesser. Daniel J. Lesser to be exact. And if there were a Supreme Court of Good Guys in Oak Park, he'd be Chief Justice.
