Finally, another Hemingway

By Ken Trainor
Perusing the names of OPRF High School's graduates is always interesting. It is certainly an indication of our increasing diversity. Some get pretty involved. Celina Elise Sha Qing Madden, for instance, and Elias Aziz El-Metennani. Names are getting more complicated, with plenty of hyphens, including hyphenated middle names, which we'd never noticed before. But some are succinct, like Tito M. Tate.
And some things seem eternal. There are still multiple Andersons, Johnsons, Joneses, and Williamses.
But the name that really caught our eye was Jack Pike Hemingway Finkle. We're not sure how many Hemingways have graduated from OPRF since the early part of the 20th century or whether this one is in any way distantly related, but in Oak Park, the name Hemingway catches the eye. We also couldn't help thinking that Jack Pike would make a great name for a Hemingway character.
Congratulations to the entire well-named class of 2013.
