The State of Illinoios requires the District to schedule and announce a public hearing to consider the following:
The Board of Education of the Oak Park and River Forest High School, Consolidated High School District Number 200, Cook County, Illinois, is waiving the observance of Lincoln’s Birthday on February 13, 2012.   The School District will be holding a public hearing during the March 24, 2011 regular board meeting and is seeking the opinion of parents and faculty on moving the non-attendance day to President’s Day on February 20, 2012.
A standard day of observance would give the District an opportunity to partner with local organizations in appropriately observing this important holiday.
