By Terry Dean

Staff reporter

The conversation about teen alcohol and substance abuse in the two villages continues Wednesday, Dec. 8, at River Forest Community Center, 8020 Madison. The focus of this latest “community café” is how effective drug-sniffing dogs, drug testing and a closed campus would be in combating the problem. All three topics have been mentioned by some in the community as solutions at Oak Park and River Forest High School. John Williams, township youth supervisor, will moderate the event. The forum runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

I want to commend the organizers of the Community Cafe; it was a very good discussion about various actions that are under consideration and allowed for a real partnership between various stakeholders. Keep up the great work and I encourage all to get involved, parents and non-parents.
