You may hear the sounds of the OPRF Marching Huskies a little longer this season, as our students travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando this Thanksgiving break. Our Huskies successfully auditioned to be among our nation’s top high school bands selected to combine in a 500-plus Thanksgiving Day “Parade of Bands."  They will be leaving Tuesday Nov. 22 and returning on Sunday Nov. 27. It has become a tradition to travel every four years with the now 100-plus member marching band over Thanksgiving. If you happen to be in Orlando on Thanksgiving, stop by to see the bands as they parade down Hollywood Boulevard, featured in front of the Sorcerer Mickey Hat in a Thanksgiving Day Spectacular. And if you’re celebrating closer to home, take a break from the turkey or tofurky and turn on the Disney Channel between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Go, Huskies!

The Disney performance will be great and a terrific finale to this year's season. Mr. Svejda's and Mr. Pearson's leadership and the kids' enthusiasm and hard work has made this the "best band yet." Hope it will be on TV (Disney Channel)so everyone in Oak Park and rover Forest can watch these talented kids perform.
