Staff Reporter

You're probably seen the Oak Park village president on the run.

That's because Village President Anan Abu-Taleb will take on his next marathon this weekend when he heads to The Big Apple. Abu-Taleb and a friend will be tackling the ING New York City Marathon. They'd planned to do that same marathon last year but it was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy. Instead, they went to California.

Abu-Taleb, who thrives on the challenge of a marathon, said this is at least his 15th one, which includes running the Boston Marathon a few years back.

Good luck, Mr. President.

Not certain how I feel about Anan but he's freaking fast! Just looked up and saw 3:22 in the Chicago Marathon a few years ago at 52. Wow.

Have a safe and enjoyable run, Anan....and while you're there, teach New York how to make a really great fish taco!
